Our family relocated to Charlotte on 12/31/07. Yes, we closed on our house the morning of New Years Eve and celebrated with our three dogs (RIP Ivan) by ordering take out and watching Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year on a VERY small TV. When you move to a new city you quickly pick up on the nuances of the area. The first thing I noticed? All the females in the area wore Seven For All Mankind jeans, North Face jackets and Ugg boots.
I never understood why living in the South all these people would be wearing Ugg boots. Sure, they’re trendy, they’re expensive and some styles are really cute but they are also very warm! You barely need a winter coat here, let alone some sheepskin lined boots.
Then I figured it out. Everyone is from up North where its freezing in the winter, where warm boots are a requirement.
So, its three years later and I finally have my first pair of Ugg boots (thanks Hal & Kathy) and I love them. Socks or not, however you decide to wear them, they are worth the investment. Super soft and warm, I wear them around the house like slippers. Expensive slippers.

I need those in Florida this year. I am following you back. Have a great weekend.

They are everyone in San Francisco and as a native New Yorker I didn't get it until I realized that I'm surrounded by transplants, too! PLUS, they were wear them with shorts too! It's crazy, but they are great boots.
