My blender hangs out in the bathroom. If the jar or canister (not sure what the technical term is, so how about the part you dump stuff into) is even sitting on the kitchen counter, my daughter goes into a panic. She’ll tell me to put it away, that she doesn’t like it and most of the times, will have tears streaming down her face. I figure if it upsets her that much, the least I can do is take it in my bathroom. She’ll eventually learn to love it as each time I make something with it, I share it with her and tell her the blender made it. She used to be scared of the vacuum too but now she’s TELLING me to vacuum the floor and wants to help. I think her dad put her up to that… So for now, I make my Pumpkin Smoothie hidden away in my bathroom and you know why.
There are tons of pumpkin smoothie recipes to choose from but I found that many included a banana. While I’ll eat banana in bread (heck, I’ll eat anything in bread), I’m not a fan of it otherwise. So, if you’re a fan of banana, try adding it to this recipe.
Pumpkin Smoothie (Serves 1)
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1-2 tbsp brown sugar (depending on how sweet you want it)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg + more for garnish
- 1/8 tsp ginger
- a pinch of cloves
- 1 cup ice
- Pour all the ingredients in a blender, blend to desired consistency.
- You could also put a dollop of whipped cream on top (or add a shot of Bailey’s) and it would be extra yummy. I made mine with skim milk to save on calories and fat but if you’re willing, try it with a few tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.

This sounds so good. Defiantly like the idea of adding the Baileys this would make for a great Thanksgiving dinner drink.
