Here’s my famous guacamole recipe.  It is always a hit at my parties and the recipe has been requested many times.  And added bonus is its super easy, a plus when making fabulous party food.

Ingredients:

  • 5 avocados
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1/8 – 1/4 cup diced red onion (depends on your taste)
  • 1-2 lemons
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 4-5 dashes of hot sauce
  • 2-3 dashes of cumin
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Put the avocados in a medium size bowl.  Add the juice of one lemon, garlic, red onion, hot sauce and cumin.  Dice avocados with two sharp knives.
  2. Add tomatoes and mix gently.  Salt and pepper to taste.

I like my guacamole chunky.  If you like your guacamole smooth, you would add all the ingredients except the red onions and tomatoes and mix until your desired consistency.  Then mix in the onions and tomatoes.

  1. That’s similar to mine, but I hadn’t thought of trying hot sauce :)

  2. I adore Avocados from Mexico.  I did a fun event with them back in October.  They are so creative to use bloggers to showcase what a great fruit they are.  I have definitely been using more avocados since i participated..you probably will too!

  3. Cool! I LOVE avocados.

  4. This looks like a yummy recipe. Is it hot? I like my guac with cilantro, lime and garlic. Hot sauce and cumin look like new fun ingredients to try!

    • No, its not hot at all. I used to put minced jalapenos in my guac but I no longer like biting directly into them so instead, opted for hot sauce.

  5. Great contest! I love making guacamole!

  6. I love trying new guac recipes… I put way more garlic in my guac than you do and I like to add freshly ground pepper too.. love seeing all the different options!

  7. Yum we love us some guac!  This looks great.

  8. Love love avacados! I usually make my guac kind of plain though. I use lemon or lime jouce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder, and diced up tomatoes. I don’t like onion chunks. MMM makes me want some now! Do you know what recipe won the contest?

    • Sarah BB says:
