I admit it. I’m completely jealous of the time my husband gets to spend with my daughter in our new city. There is so much for them to see and so many places to go. Every week we get an email that tells us what is going on in the community and every weekend, we have so many choices and not enough time. But what I’ve known all along is that all the museums, zoos, shows and restaurants can’t take the place of a simple morning spent at the park. Just last week as I was banging my head against the wall at work because of a new “discovery,” my husband sent me this recap of their daddy daughter day out.

Pushing Donald (her other “baby”) in the swing.
Pushed ‘Baby’ in Stroller.
Ate a muffin.
Pushed baby more.
Ate another muffin.
Saw a squirrel.
Chased squirrel up a tree.
Watched Brecken try to understand how a squirrel can climb the tree.
Chased another squirrel.
Chased another squirrel.
Brecken insists on finding the Mommy and Daddy for these three squirrels.
Go on to chase a total of 7 more squirrels.
But wait there is more,
Met a Chipmunk. She states it is a little squirrel.
I then explain the difference.
Ate another muffin.
Played in the sand (need to remember to bring toy shovels and buckets).
Looked at two boys playing with their ‘Thomas the Train’ Sets.
Started a second Cold War with Russia:
- Brecken and very pretty Russian girl were staring at each other to determine who gets to go on the ‘spin wheel’
- Grandma and Daddy (Me) step in to bring peace without Nukes and teach them how to share the spin wheel.
Brecken is chased again by a boy.
We leave.
On the couch for nap, wakes up (after only 5 minutes) and asks me to vacuum the couch as the sand on her feet is bothering her.
Even though I can’t be home with my daughter all the time, it is nice to know that she’s having this one-on-one time with her daddy. I hope she remembers this when she gets older and realizes the simple things make for the best memories. And eventually, she’ll understand the difference between a chipmunk and a squirrel.

Oh the life of a child- She’s adorable!
With two great parents who teach and journal everything she is doing, she will remember and thank you for it(;
I love this post! Somebody sure likes muffins!
Cutest recap ever! I love it!
I love that your daughter gets to spend so much time with her daddy. My husband is gone a lot with school and work and we don’t get to see him very much. I know my kids are missing out on a lot of quality time with him and it is hard on me, but I cherish ever moment I get with them too.
I hope you have more opportunities to have Mommy, Daddy and daughter time spent together.
Aww, what fun! Your daughter is a cutie! Why do I have a feeling Daddy was more tired then her after the day at the park? Lol!

I know how it feels. I am also a full time mom working and my husband being an freelance web developer, is the one taking care of the kids. Will try to join them their Halloween bonding.
