Holiday Pampering with NIVEA Lotion #NIVEAmoments

During the holidays, I try to be a little creative with my gifts.  Wanting to teach our daughter that it’s more about the thought behind the present than the actual cost, we’ve included her in shopping for the holiday gifts she’s giving the teachers in her classroom.  Since teachers get inundated with gifts during the Christmas season, we decided to give them a gift that they can use in the classroom because everyone deserves some holiday pampering with NIVEA lotion.

I heard that Sam’s Club had the best deal on NIVEA lotion so Saturday night after a fun-filled day of going to My Gym and out to lunch, we took a much needed afternoon nap and then loaded in the car after dinner to do some shopping.  If there is any advice I have for shopping during the holidays, it’s to go about an hour before the store closes! You can actually navigate the aisles without running over someone and the lines at check out are minimal.  We were able to roam around Sam’s Club and never once did I have to say excuse me for bumping into someone (you can see our full shopping experience in my Google+ album).

We found a bunch of fun stuff.  My husband wanted to buy this bear for my daughter but really, I think it wanted it more for himself! Luckily, mom logic prevailed and the gigantic bear didn’t make it into the shopping cart.  On the way home from Sam’s, we talked to my daughter about why we buy presents for other people.  At first I didn’t think she really understood and then as we were picking up juice boxes from Trader Joe’s, she said something that make me realize all my gabbing wasn’t in vain.  ”Mom”, she said, “I get the green juice boxes for me and you get the purple ones for Annabelle, Leo and Bella. It’s their present.”  Even a three year can understand the concept of giving.

The next morning Brecken and I worked on decorating the NIVEA Daily Lotion for her teachers.  After unsuccessfully trying to tie a bow, I opted to use tissue paper instead.  Monday, her teachers are going to get a nice present for their classroom and because Brecken wants to give them something the night of her Christmas play, they are each getting all the things necessary to have a manicure makeover in the comfort of their own home.  Practical but pampering.  Just as gifts should be.

  1. What a wonderful lesson about gifting to share with your daughter :) I have no doubt that her teachers will appreciate your thoughtful and pampering gift! That must have been a challenge to hold out in the face of such a bear but I’m sure it was fun to appreciate in store :)

  2. I also love the bear! It would make a great lounge pillow. I bet my little ones wouldn’t mind cuddling with it :)

  3. ha! That bear is awesome! We saw on in our Sam’s Club the other day and I was tempted by it too! lol.

I love the NIVEA lotions and they most definitely make a great gift. I would use them again for Christmas Presents, but I just gave a lot to my friends for Thanksgiving. I think I should mix it up a bit. lol. But they all have commented how much they have loved the NIVEA lotion.

    • I kept thinking, where would we put that thing? I’m going back to Sam’s to pick up some NIVEA lotion for myself!
