One of the challenges of renting a home is that you’re limited in what things you can do to personalize your space. After being a homeowner for 12+ years, it’s been hard for me to adapt to someone else’s paint colors and window coverings. I’ve accepted that it’s not a wise investment to to redecorate this house with things I can’t take with me so instead of investing in gallons of paint and blinds that will only fit one of the 25 windows in this house, I’m decorating with vinyl wall stickers form My Wonderful Walls.
I told my husband when we moved out of our last rental that no matter what, I was going to decorate my daughter’s room. She’s had so much change in her short three years of life (she’s lived in a different state for each of her birthdays) that I wanted her to have a room that she felt comfortable in. Since painting was out of the question, I started researching vinyl wall stickers for kids and came across My Wonderful Walls. The great thing about My Wonderful Walls is you can search their site by different themes. I knew that I wanted something that had pinks and blues (her favorite colors) and that also wasn’t too babyish. I finally settled on the owl wall stickers. The color scheme worked well with her existing paint color and I personally loved the owls!
The wall stickers were really easy to put up. They recommend putting them on freshly painted walls that have had a few weeks to cure for best results but even without completing that part, our wall stickers adhered with no problem. The great thing about the stickers if you put them in the wrong place or get a air bubble or crease, you can reposition the stickers. To pay someone to come in and paint a mural on my daughters wall would have been costly (and against my landlord’s rules). With wall stickers from My Wonderful Walls, I can decorate her room in less than a hour and when we move out, take it down in a few minutes.
My daughter loves her new room. She’s been playing in her room more often and even told me that I had to sleep in the guest room and couldn’t sleep with her! The next time we move (which is hopefully our last), I’m definitely going to check out the latest wall stickers and wall stencils from My Wonderful Walls.

Love this! We did a tree decal system for my daughters room that was very similar – trees, flowers, hers had some animals. What a difference it makes! I love seeing them everyday and its great to see a post of what others have done as well. ;-D

That would be a fun post too! I’ll have to put it up and come back to tell you about it. Her room is actually an optional den. So it has some weird angles w/the only straight wall being where her bed corner is. The other 3 hold her window, a wall of closets, and a double french door. The stickers helped us decorate the closet wall and give it a more solid feeling, we threaded the smaller accent stickers along the other walls to bring it together.
This is my favourite theme that they do too! I like how bold it is, even while being pink and girly.
