Gorton’s Seafood

Gorton's Seafood Finding foods that my daughter will eat has recently become more of a challenge.  We tend to get in the same rut that many parents do: chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and peanut butter sandwiches.  As she gets older, she has begun to have preconceived opinions of what food she likes before even trying it.

Frozen fish had never really been a part of our diet.  Before we moved to Arkansas, we would frequently cook fresh fish.  My entire family loves easy to prepare fish like tilapia and salmon.  Knowing the health benefits of seafood, I made sure we introduced fish to my daughter at an early age.  Unfortunately in our current location, fresh seafood is hard to find.  That’s why I have turned to frozen seafood products, like Gorton’s, to fill the gap.

Rushed for time and not wanting to eat out, last Saturday I made Gorton’s Seafood Premium Breaded Tilapia Filets for dinner.  Never trying them before, I was a little concerned as my husband tends to be picky about his seafood – frozen or fresh.  Knowing this, I followed the directions as written on the package, turning the fish after 12 minutes of cooking (I admit, I rarely do this when told to).  The fish was nice and crisp and not overly greasy.  Paired with some kid-friendly foods, our meal was easy to make.  Both my husband and daughter liked the tilapia and now, I have another easy option when there isn’t the time or energy to cook!

I want to try the Restaurant Style Salmon Cakes recipe.  I will probably end up using one of the ones that ‘hide’ the fish so my kiddos will eat it :)
    Thanks!
