How Often Do You Clean Your Refrigerator? #ngfoodie

I bet it’s not as often as you should.  I also bet it’s not on your high priority list either because it sure isn’t on mine! Well, I’ve discovered an awesome product that not only looks great but also is functional and super simple to install!  Introducing Fridge Coaster!

clean your refrigerator

Fridge Coaster are liners that you put in the bottom of your crisper bins, door shelves and even on your shelves that is made of dense, super absorbent 30% recycled wood pulp.  So that means that any spills, drips or leaks that happen in our refrigerator will be soaked up right away, eliminating the scrubbing that is needed when all those spills and drips eventually dry up.

I wish I could say that everyone in my house makes sure all the lids are shut and the containers are wiped down BEFORE putting them in the refrigerator but that doesn’t always happen.  My daughter is at the age where she wants to help us put things away after a meal.  Of course I’m taking full advantage of that but because we allow her to get in the refrigerator, sometimes it means that things get taken out, used for a “picnic” and put back in without me knowing.  That’s why Fridge Coaster is a nice solution.

Yup, there’s photobombing Wrigley again!

The hardest part about installing Fridge Coaster is cleaning your bins.  Make sure to wash your bins in some warm, soapy water and dry.  Remember, the Fridge Coaster absorbs liquids so they won’t swell or fall apart even if fully submerged in liquids so its not a huge deal if there are a few bins that don’t get completely dry. Some other fun facts about Fridge Coaster, they are 100% recyclable and that includes the packaging! Products that are earth-friendly are very important to our family and knowing that even though this is a disposable product (it’s recommended you replace them every 120 days or so but it really depends on how much use they get), makes me feel better about using them. They also use a UV dried printing process where the ink is cured by UV rays which prevents the ink from bleeding beyond it’s original printed shape – even when submerged in water!

The adult fridge!

When you order your Fridge Coaster, you’ll specify what type of refrigerator you have: french doors, side-by-side, etc.  Your can choose from either a door pack, large bin pack, original shelf and bin pack or the fridge pack which combines all the products at a discounted price (vs buying all three separately). What is also super fun is choosing the patterns and colors! Since I have two refrigerators, it made my my decision process a little easier because picking one would be just too hard.  For my upstairs refrigerator I went with the zig zag pattern in grey.  For the one in my garage, I had to go with the tile pattern in pink.

We’re also using Fridge Coaster as a learning tool.  Remember I told you about my daughter’s picnics?  Well, in our main refrigerator, I’ve designated one shelf just for her.  That means if she wants a snack, she’s free to help herself to anything on her shelf, which is lined with a pink fridge coaster (the rest are grey). What’s also great about this is it let’s my husband, babysitters, or whomever know which snacks are mom-approved. :)

  23. Thank u for sharing this with everyone. I use a technique similar to these but they’re more for keeping things in place but, for these to soak up anything that may leak a but, that’s wonderful!!! I have everything already placed in my fridge, certain things go in certain places already but, this is something I wouldn’t mind checking out:))

  26. I LOVE these! Great idea & cool designs. I would say I usually clean my fridge (completely) about once every 8wks or so… although I’m ALWAYS wiping parts of it down if I notice it needs it or feel it needs sanitizing due to little hands. I want these! Thanks :)

I checked out their website and actually they aren’t expensive and really would be worth the money in the long run by saving that horrible task of cleaning the fridge!

    • What’s funny is that I’m even more conscious of wiping jars, bottles, etc off before I put them away because I don’t want to dirty them because they are so pretty!
