Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

One recipe that always brings me back to my childhood during Christmastime is peanut butter blossoms. The delicious peanut buttery cookie and the soft, slightly melted chocolate on top. It’s one of the recipes I cherish from my mom and turn to whenever I need a pick me up.

The best part about baking during the holidays is that I can share these family-favorite recipes with my children. It’s something that can be passed on through the generations and the tradition is passed on.

When I found this delicious-looking Planters Banana Granola Crunch peanut butter at Target last week I knew I had to make these cookies with the kids before the holidays.

With holiday parties and cookie swaps in full swing, this recipe is a nice twist on a classic. The Planter’s Banana Granola Crunch peanut butter adds a different spin that’s super tasty.

One thing I love about these cookies is the ease in which they come together. No need to wait for dough to chill.

And the kids love to roll the peanut butter cookie dough in the sugar and then press in the chocolate once they’re baked up.

Banana Granola Crunch Peanut Butter Blossoms

1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Planters Banana Granola Crunch peanut butter
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus more for rolling)
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
milk chocolate kisses

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together peanut butter, shortening, and sugars. Once combined add milk, vanilla, and egg until well mixed.
Slowly add in flour mixture until dough comes together.
Take dough and make 1 inch balls. Roll into granulated sugar and place onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. While cookies are baking, unwrap kisses. Remove cookies and press kisses into center. Resume baking for 2-5 minutes.
Let cookies cool before serving.
