Captain America: Civil War Trailer

Captain America Civil War poster

Underoos. I'll give you three guesses as to who this is, and if you can't, watch the Captain America: Civil War trailer to figure it out. In the next movie, Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and … [Read more...]

Bridge of Spies Opens in Theaters October 16th

Bridge of Spies Poster

A few weeks ago my husband and I saw this really, really bad movie with Owen Wilson (I'll let you Google it and figure the name out).  It was so bad that my eyes kept wandering around the theater, eventually finding a clock and counting down the minutes until it was over. The only good that came out of the movie were the previews. A couple of movies looked interesting and then a preview we both got excited about came on, Bridge of Spies. Bridge of Spies stars Tom Hanks and was directed by … [Read more...]

McFarland USA in Theatres Everywhere

McFarland USA movie

I'm a sucker for a sports-related films, especially if they are based on true stories. I'm sure I've seen The Blind Side and Remember the Titans at least thirty times each. There are about 10-15 movies that I can watch over and over and tonight, I saw another movie that will go on that list...McFarland USA. Based on the 1987 true story, McFarland, USA follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California, as they give their all to build a cross-country team … [Read more...]

Marvel’s Avengers: The Age of Ultron Trailer

avengers age of ultron

I came to two conclusions tonight. One, I am getting another television. A bigger television. One where I can see the score of the Buckeye game without being 3 feet from the TV. Two, I am seeing The Age of Ultron the day it comes out in the theaters (in case you're wondering, that would be May 1st). My television is so small, that I almost didn't see the new trailer for The Age of Ultra shown during the National Championship game (Go BUCKS)! In fact, my daughter is the one who brought it … [Read more...]

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #DisneyBeauties #CollectiveBias Once upon a time there was a middle-age mom who thought she knew a lot about the various Disney Princesses. This mom grew up with classic movies such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. She watched them as a child and adored them. As she got older, her interests changed. Instead of playing princesses, she started playing … [Read more...]

Captain America: The Winter Soldier in Theaters Today

captain america shield

I have been waiting for Captain America: The Winter Soldier to come out for what feels like forever. After being on the set, meeting Chris Evans and getting to hold THE shield (yes, one actually used in the movie - not a prototype), it only seems appropriate that I be in the theater opening weekend. If you haven't heard about the movie then you haven't been reading my blog. Shame on you! But seriously, if by some slim chance you're saying to yourself, "Captain America has a movie??" … [Read more...]

Delivery Man Movie

I received a copy of the Delivery Man movie for review purposes. No other compensation was received.  All statements are mine and yours may differ. Additionally, this post contains affiliate links. When you live in Wichita, Kansas, sometimes you have to get creative with your date night ideas. And when you're trying to stick within a budget because you have a huge tax bill to pay, you have to be cheap and creative. I'm usually not either (well, sometimes I'm cheap but that's a whole 'nother … [Read more...]

The Single Moms Club Movie {and Giveaway}

May (Nia Long) and Rick (Massai Z. Dorsey) in Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting(#MC) for Lionsgate and The Single Moms Club movie. I received promotional item and a prize pack as a thank you for my participation. Raising a child is not an easy task and it's even harder when you're doing that solo. When I had my daughter, I never thought I would become a single mom. It didn't really hit me that my support system had dwindled in half until I had to fill out the emergency contact section on my daughter's … [Read more...]

On The Set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier

captain america chris evans

I'm usually not one for surprises. In fact, I don't like them. I have a few control issues (OK, a lot of control issues) and knowing there is a surprise makes me all jittery inside. So when I received my itinerary for the Iron Man 3 premiere last April, seeing the world "surprise" did not sit well with me, and no, the word "special" before surprise did not make it better. It turns out all surprises are not bad. In fact, this surprise rocked, in the biggest of ways. In fact, it was so good … [Read more...]

Disney’s Oscar Winning FROZEN Crosses 1 Billion at the Box Office

Frozen

My daughter has seen Disney's Frozen in the theaters four times. She and friends can recite nearly all the lines in the movie to perfection, even correcting me at times. Everything is about Elsa and Anna. Everything. She even changed her favorite color from pink to blue and wants all her clothes to be "Elsa Blue". With influence like that, it was no surprise to me that Frozen reached 1 billion dollars in box office sales. And it was only fitting that it happened the day the movie won two … [Read more...]
