If you’re a college football fan like me for the next week and a half, you’ll be glued to the television taking in every bowl game that you can.  Watching bowl games means you’ll want to have plenty of game day appetizers on hand.  Sure you could make them all yourself but why do that when you can pick of appetizers for all your guests at an affordable price from ALDI’s.

It’s been years since I shopped at ALDI’s and I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of foods they had available.  When I entered the store, the first thing I did was grab their weekly flyer to see what the specials were. Low and behold, right behind the flyer display was a variety of wines that were extremely affordable.  After living in a dry county for fifteen months, I still get a little giddy at the thought of buying wine at the grocery store.  I didn’t end up buying any wine this time but it’s nice to know ALDI’s gives me that option.

My goal on this shopping trip was to pick up appetizers to eat during our first round of bowl games.  Wanting a variety of items, I roamed up and down each aisle so I could check out everything they had to offer.  I was quite impressed with the selection of snacks and actually had a hard time choosing which items to buy.  Luckily for me, you get a lot for your money at ALDI’s.  With a $25 budget (I went over by $1.87), I was able to get enough food to serve at our Rose Bowl party.

Try doing that at any other grocery store!

ALDI’s also offers great holiday entertaining tips.  Aside from football parties, I know that many of us are gearing up for New Year’s Eve celebrations.  A great tip ALDI’s offer is to serve small bites at your party.  Serve holiday appetizers along site the gourmet cheese such as Specially Selected Brie and Specially Selected Havarti.  They even offer a suggested shopping list to make life even easier.

Affordable, convenient and great food.  What more could you want from a grocery store?

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for ALDI. I received a gift certificate to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

  1. You know… we have an Aldi near our home but I have never been. I should check it out!

  2. I absolutely LOVE Aldi. I shop there at least twice a week!

  3. I hear about Aldi’s all the time but we don’t have them out in California (at least none that I have ever seen!) Those snacks look yummy!

  4. I have grown to love Aldi’s the last couple of years :) their chocolate is very tasty especially around Xmas time. The cheese selection does very throughout the year but always a great selection. If you are still hesitant, it may make you feel better that their sister company is trader joe’s. you can also find unique spices and ethnic foods throughout the seasons.

    • My husband had told me they had a relationship with Trader Joe’s but I didn’t believe him! Guess now I have to go apologize to him for being a doubter…lol!

  5. Wow. You are making me want to go shopping at Aldi’s. I go there on occasion. Okay, twice this year for something special my mom saw in an ad. I am going more often – to cut cost and for regular shopping. One of my goals is to save money by not being a stuck up shopper. Thanks

  6. I Love Aldi’s Thanks for the tips. We will be watching the Super Bowl this year and throwing a party, so this will keep my costs down.

  7. We have an Aldi’s pretty close by, I don’t know why I haven’t stopped in. Will definitely give it a good look when we have to go shopping next!
