Photo A Day Challenge Day 4: Letter
Unlike my daughter, I’ve never thought about having a favorite letter. For her, she has proudly announced to family members and strangers alike that W is her favorite letter. What makes it her favorite letter? That I’m not sure. But as time started winding down and I still needed to take my photo for the day, I immediately knew what my favorite letter was: B.
Many things I love and enjoy start with the letter B. First and foremost, my daughter Brecken. No matter how rough the day is, I can look at her and smile. She reminds me to not take things so seriously and if I make a mistake, it’s OK because “mistakes happen.” She’s taught me that toddler logic can make sense (yes it is a hamburger with cheese and not a cheeseburger) and that ice cream before bed makes you go to sleep faster.
B is also the first letter of my maiden name and married name. As much as I hated my last name growing up, I couldn’t part with it once I become married and hyphenated my last name. I had accomplished so much under my maiden name that it didn’t seem right to abandon it. At my last job, I was coined Sarah BB (my boss was also named Sarah) and it’s stuck. Yes, B is my favorite letter.

I love the letter B too. It’s the first letter of my married last name and it’s also the first letter in my oldest son’s first name. Funny, I had never considered having a favorite letter before. Thanks for sharing.
