Pumpkin Cookies with Caramel Frosting

pumpkin cookies with caramel frosting

Fall is my favorite time of the year. While I don't like my days getting shorter, I love seeing the leaves turn different colors, getting to wear my warm sweaters and having most importantly, having an excuse to make most of the foods my family eats with pumpkin. My daughter and I usually make pumpkin oatmeal and pumpkin bread together. We've even tried pumpkin soup and some day I'm going to get adventurous and try making my own pumpkin puree. In the meantime, we've added a new recipe to … [Read more...]

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TeamJellO #CollectiveBias My boss is a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan. He has football season tickets and makes it to most of the home games and a few of the away ones. As much as I like giving him a hard time about his choice in teams, I have to admit that Oklahoma football games are a lot of fun to watch. I haven't been to one in years but this year, that changes as he gave me tickets to the … [Read more...]

Hazelnut Pumpkin Poke Cake

Next week is a big week in our household. Not only does my daughter start kindergarten but she also turns five and we're NOT having a Frozen birthday party! Seriously, that is a huge deal. Like most parents, for the past 8 months or so, all I've heard is my daughter belt out Let It Go and tell me when things are Anna green and Elsa blue. She even went as far to proclaim blue as her new favorite color and asked me to repaint her room (ummm...no). To do something special for her first week … [Read more...]

Microwave Fudge with Salted Caramel Mocha Frosting

microwave fudge

For the past few weeks people have been making jokes at my expense. Whenever I tell them that my boyfriend and I are driving 23 hours (pretty much nonstop) to go backcountry camping in Glacier National Park, they can't help but smirk. I get it. I probably don't look like the type of person who would give up electricity, running water and WIFI to go roaming through the mountains. Until a few weeks ago, I had never set up a tent, blew up a sleeping pad or even knew a thing as hiking underwear … [Read more...]

Coffee Flavored Popsicles

International delight creamer

In less than a month, I'm going to turn 40 years old. Instead of dreading the big 4-0, I decided to embrace it. And by embrace it I mean I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish before the big day. Some things were pretty easy, like use a coupon (which I did...for Bigelow Tea), others a bit more challenging such as #22, make Julia Child's coq au vin (what the heck was I thinking...I don't even like bones in my meat!!) and others, like #1, give coffee a chance, just seemed like the grown up … [Read more...]

Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

Banana Granola Crunch Peanut Butter Blossoms

One recipe that always brings me back to my childhood during Christmastime is peanut butter blossoms. The delicious peanut buttery cookie and the soft, slightly melted chocolate on top. It's one of the recipes I cherish from my mom and turn to whenever I need a pick me up. The best part about baking during the holidays is that I can share these family-favorite recipes with my children. It's something that can be passed on through the generations and the tradition is passed on. When I found … [Read more...]

Brownie Milkshake with Cold Stone Creamery International Delight

Brownie Milkshake | East9thStreet.com

I used to think my parents were a bit strange. Even with the temperatures being in the triple digits, they would sit outside on the deck drinking cups of hot coffee. It didn't make sense to me to consume a beverage when you were sweating but they drank it because they loved the taste of coffee. What confused me even more was my mom would drink coffee while she ate her ice cream. But then I realized, I like to dip my cream cookies in hot coffee and I'm not a hot coffee drinker! As I grew older, I … [Read more...]

cake donuts with raspberry compote

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade where I had the opportunity to make Gail Simmons' raspberry compote sauce and drizzle it over some yummy doughnuts! I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. As a Cascade #MyPlatinum ambassador I have to do a LOT of hard work,  I have to cook yummy recipes created by the amazing Gail Simmons and then write about them.
