Want to hear something some people find odd? Here goes, I’m Korean and I’ve never made Korean BBQ. I think I’ve eaten it but I can’t entirely be sure. For some reason I have it in my head that it’s really complex to make (even though I’ve never really looked at a recipe) and I’m sure it’s because the flavors are so intense and not because I’m kinda lazy during the week. 😉

The reality is, it can be very simple. Sure, you can go on Bon Appetite’s website and find  a recipe that will have you slaving over the stove all day or you can do what I did. Go to your local grocery store and pick up a packet of  and a beef pot roast that will go directly into your slow cooker. Make yourself feel better for taking the easy way out and make sure your pot roast is humanely raised and grass fed.

It literally takes less than 5 minutes to prep your ingredients and start cooking. In fact, I timed myself and it took me 3 minutes and that includes trying to find my knife and chopping a few green onions (I have a thing for them).  I’m not sure how they do it but all the ingredients in that little packet of goodness make a simply amazing weeknight dinner. Or in our case, two amazing weeknight dinners.

I believe everything tastes better when wrapped in a flour tortilla so I opted to serve my Korean BBQ taco style, like the package suggested. After heating up some flour tortillas, I chopped up some cabbage and added my staple ingredients when it comes to Asian food: red pepper flakes and toasted sesame seeds. And more green onions, remember, I have a thing for them.

Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces come in a variety of flavors. Of course my favorite is the Sweet Korean BBQ but they also have:

  • Tavern Style Pot Roast (with cremini mushrooms)
  • Moroccan Spiced Stew
  • Hawaiian Luau
  • Mexican Red Chile Taco
